If you are a parent you know just how quickly clutter can build up in your home.  For some reason, those little bundles of joy bring with them an awful lot of stuff!

Once I realized the negative effects clutter has on my life I made it my mission to declutter our space and start living with only the things we really need.

When my kids were babies it was easy to declutter their things.  I just did it for them and they had no idea!

Now that my son is older and he has more awareness of what is considered his stuff, I don’t want to just declutter his things when he’s not around.  I could, and it would be way easier!  But if I do, I run the risk of him worrying about me taking his things and hiding them from me.  And that’s not the goal we are after!

We want to teach our children what enough looks like and ultimately help them make that decision on their own.

Of course, I don’t always declutter with my kids.  Sometimes I just need to get it done and move on.  But when I have the time to slow down and really teach my son how to declutter, I know I am making a huge impact on his mindset.
