During each month in 2018, I am focusing on a different simplicity challenge or mini SMART goal.  So far I have practiced daily gratitude, meditated every daymoved my body for at least 15 minutes every day, and completed a no-spend challenge, just to name a few. October Challenge: Focus on Quick Wins

During the last 10 days of October, I completed the 10-Minute Decluttering Challenge by sharing an image prompt on Instagram each day.  I then shared my results and lessons learned in my Instagram stories for each day.  The challenge was SO MUCH FUN!!  We had a great group of folks participating and it was so encouraging to see other people’s progress.

The purpose of the decluttering challenge was to focus on the quick-wins and get over the hurdle of simply starting.  You can do anything for 10 minutes, right???

Before we get to the prompts, I want to address one question that I know you are probably dying to ask….

Can You Really Declutter Your Home in Just 10 Minutes?

I am so glad you asked!!

Because my answer is YES!!!!  While it will take a long time to declutter your whole home if you only spend 10 minutes, the purpose of only spending 10 minutes is to get you STARTED!!

After 10 minutes is up, there’s nothing holding you back from continuing on.  But telling yourself that you just have to spend 10 minutes, gives you the option to stop and know that you still made some progress.

If you spend 10 minutes decluttering every day for a year you will have decluttered for a total of 3,640 minutes.

This is the same as spending 152 hours!

Just 10 minutes every day, if used wisely, can make a big impact.

10 minutes may not look like much, I bet you can waste 10 minutes without even realizing it by scrolling through social media.  Instead of scrolling social media, let’s put those 10 minutes to good use and declutter a small area of your home.

I challenge you to commit to finding a 10-minute pocket in your day to complete this challenge, and I know you will see amazing results in your home too!

Where should you go next?

Now that you have completed the 10-minute decluttering challenge, I would definitely recommend NOT skipping step number 10 above, celebrate!  It is so important to take a break and celebrate what you have accomplished.  You will be much more ready to continue on to the next challenge that comes your way.
